HPI Meets CPSIA Safety Regulations for Children’s Printed Materials

Have you thought of producing publications geared for children, such as coloring or activity books? New safety certification requirements have been established for products for children 12 years of age or younger, under the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA).

Since HPI is the publisher of two children’s coloring books — The ABC’s of Vermont and Abby in Vermont — we have been certified to meet the safety requirements for such products.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website, the “sweeping new law impacts a broad spectrum of our economy. From manufacturers of toys to the kids that play with them, everyone is affected in some way — even those who make and donate products to hospitals and charities. There are new rules to be understood and adopted for everyone from the largest global manufacturer to the crafter working in the family workshop to the mom-and-pop shop on the corner.
