HPI Joins Renewable Energy Program

HPI is taking steps to reduce our impact on the environment by offsetting our electricity use and carbon emissions through the purchase of renewable energy credits (RECs) and carbon offsets.

We made the purchase through Renewable Choice Energy, an employee-owned company and leader in the field for helping businesses and individuals understand and reduce their environmental impact with renewable energy and other clean technology solutions. Based in Boulder, Colorado, the organization was founded in 2001 with the mission to support the market that shifts society toward a more sustainable future.

Renewable energy, also known as clean energy or green energy, is defined as “energy derived from resources that are regenerative, or for all practical purposes, cannot be depleted,” according to Renewable Choice Energy.

Our purchase of RECs and carbon offsets has a collective impact that is similar to planting 679 fully mature trees annually, taking 14 passenger cars off the road for one year, and keeping an average passenger car from driving 165,020 miles.
